AN EXTREMELY SPECIFIC WORD GAME

How to Don.

Find the ten-letter answer in four guesses.

  1. Half the odds are on DONCHEADLE — his name, without a space.
  2. The other half are on a real 10-letter English word.
  3. After each guess, the tiles tell you how close you are.
D

Right letter, right spot.
This D is exactly where it belongs.

O

Right letter, wrong spot.
There's an O somewhere else.

N

No matching letter left.
Repeated letters only count as often as they appear.

Valid guesses are ten-letter dictionary words or DONCHEADLE. Invalid and repeated guesses don't use an attempt. A fresh puzzle arrives at midnight Eastern, and everyone gets the same answer. The 50/50 draw doesn't strictly alternate.
